Replace abscessed tooth with mini? I have one upper abscessed tooth which will probably have to be pulled. Could I use a mini implant to replace that one tooth? ...Visitor from PA (answer)
Denture Implants? I'm 22 years old and just had all of my top teeth removed. I cannot eat or talk, it is impossible. I know I will adjust, but I would like implants for the top. I have plenty of bone, many dentists wouldn't take my teeth out because of the amount of bone I have left. I asked my dentist, and he is trying so hard to stop me from getting implants. I don't understand, other than the cost, won't these benefit my situation? .... Visitor from MI (answer)
Repeated implant failures: I had mini implants put in 8 weeks ago. 4 on the bottom and 6 on the top. The three on the left side of the mouth on top healed just fine and are stable. The three on the right side were still mobile after 6 weeks so the dentist replaced those with three more and removed the first ones. Now after a week the new ones are loose again and his only answer is to take them out and let the bone heal for three months. That is not a very satisfactory answer for me. MDI Imtec implants: Are MDI's best used in denture applications or can they be used to hold multiple fixed bridges on the upper arch? Also, if a patient has occlusal issues, can mini's withstand the pressure if an individual has bite problems? Would you recommend traditional implants for an entire upper arch or a full denture on the upper held in with minis? I had a full mouth rehab done and the dentist messed up my uppers. Insufficient bone? I just had a very discouraging consult with a local oral surgeon who told me I am not a candidate for dental implants due to not having sufficient jawbone for the implant. He didn't discuss mini-implants. Could I still be a candidate for those? The implants he discussed would take months to heal before using, while the minis take a day?
